Google Calendar Time Insights not showing is usually an account, device, or organization-setting issue—not a temporary error.
This guide helps you identify the cause and choose an alternative. For a complete guide to aggregating and visualizing Google Calendar events, see Google Calendar Analytics: How to Analyze and Visualize Your Time.
What is Google Calendar Time Insights?
Time Insights is a Google Calendar feature for reviewing meeting time and schedule patterns. Depending on availability, it can help you understand how calendar time is divided and whether meetings are taking over your week.
Where to find Time Insights
Check Google Calendar in a desktop web browser first. When it is available for your account, you can open the insights area from the Calendar interface.

Why Time Insights is not showing
Check these common causes in order.
- Account type: Time Insights availability is generally associated with eligible Google Workspace accounts rather than ordinary personal Gmail accounts.
- Device: Check the desktop web version of Google Calendar. The mobile app may not offer the same interface.
- Workspace settings: Your organization or administrator may limit the feature or the Google Workspace edition may not include it.
- Calendar permissions: Shared calendars can have different visibility and reporting options from your primary calendar.
- Calendar data: An empty calendar or inconsistent event labels makes any time review less useful.
What to do when Time Insights is unavailable
If you use a personal Google account, or Time Insights is disabled in your Workspace, you can still analyze your time. Give similar events consistent names, such as:
- Work | Focus work
- Work | Meeting
- Study | English
- Health | Gym
Then review the events by keyword and period. You can do this manually, export data to a spreadsheet, or use a calendar analytics tool.
